Adsorption

Oil Regeneration by Adsorption

AdsorptionDuring the regeneration process the chemical impurities in the oil (products of chemical and thermal degradation of the paper-oil-dielectricum) are adsorbed on the activated surface of the adsorbens (e.g. adsorbens clay, Fullers earth)

Advantage: Complete regeneration of aged oils; recover the oil properties to the ones of original new oil.

Disadvantages:
natural inhibitors (anti-oxidation agents) are also adsorbed during this process and have to be injected into the oil after adsorption process is finished.
